Perfusiology
The Perfusion Service of the Jo Ann University Hospital is a part of the Cardiac Surgery Department. The stuff is ready to provide following services:
- Artificial blood circulation apparatus and extracorporeal membrane (oxygenator) are attached to the aorta to provide artificial blood circulation during various cardiosurgeries;
- A patient's stable hemodynamic condition, temperature, blood gas and electrolyte levels are maintained throughout an operation;
- Adequate blood oxygenation and organ perfusion and if necessary, cardiac arrest by cardioplegia and modified or conventional ultrafiltration are provided;
Members of the Perfusion Service comprise an ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) team, the team is ready to provide ECMO services.
